CNC Milling of Bearing Mount

Step:01 Understanding the Part
The part to be machined is a bearing mount (as shown in Fig. above) with following features:
- Overall size: 45× 40 × 25 mm
- Through slot and pockets as shown in the drawing
- Central through holes (Ø15 and Ø24 counterbore)
Step: 02 Create the CAD Model in Autodesk Inventor or Fusion 360

Steps for Operating CNC Milling
a) Open Autodesk Inventor and select the CAM environment. (If the option doesn't appear, please check for Inventor CAM add in or install Inventor CAM).
b) Select the file containing the CAD model for generating CNC codes.

c) After the part is loaded in CAM environment, select the setup option for initializing the settings

d) Select the machine type and operation type

e) Select the coordinate system and stock point

f) Select the stock option to give the dimensions of the work-piece. The dimensions of the stock is kept a bit larger than than actual dimensions required.

Step: 01 Design of part, generation of codes and simulation.
Step: 02 Machine and workpiece set up and referencing.
Step: 03 Face milling operation to properly flatten the top surface.
Step: 04 End milling operation for coarse cutting and finishing the sides of block as per dimensions.
Step: 05 Drill 15 mm through hole on the block.
Step:06 End milling for counter bore the diameter from 15 mm to 24 mm to a depth of 6 mm on both sides of block
