2025MT11356: Tanvi

Week 1

As one of the first groups to have this lab our day started with much confusion and chaos as one would expect…

Dot 9:00am a barrage of us confused teenagers surrounded the TAs challenging them with issues even they didn’t know could arise?!

Finally being assigned to the digital manufacturing lab, initially I sat alone in my chair confused over what the 3D printer SLA expected of me 🧐 Turns out it didn’t actually need my help and worked just fine by itself 🤷‍♀️

Though slowly attracted by perhaps, the self independence of the printer, few more classmates surrounded it with me and we all silently gave mental support to the printer which i bet it very much needed.😁

The printer seemed to turn shy 🙈 with so many eyes watching so i decided to look around at the other stations in the lab.

Tinkering with the multimeter, the group of students making wheatstone bridges seemed to be having the time of their life clicking photos and giggling together meanwhile those at the workstation seemed like it was the end of their freshly started college life. 🥶

All through this rumours from the soldering stations spread through the lab. Whispers of “The instruments heated to 400 degrees could probably make a piercing in your finger” seemed to scare away quite a few 🫠

Overall getting a chance to interact with my group mates while fighting our lives to avoid having to buy earrings for our fingers was the greatest highlight of my day and i hope everyone else doing soldering will look forward to the same🫡
