20251EIOT6: Rainwater detection alert system

Brief Description & Functionality
A Rainwater Detection Alert System is a low-cost, real-time weather-sensing device used to detect the presence of rain and provide immediate alerts. It is commonly used in smart homes, automated window systems, farming, parking systems, and industrial automation.
Why it’s useful:
- Protects electronics and equipment from rain damage
- Automates actions like closing windows, roof covers, or alerts for vehicles/clothes drying
- Improves weather responsiveness in outdoor operations
- Can be integrated into IoT and home automation systems
Working Principle
This system uses a rain sensor module (usually a PCB with exposed conductive lines) to detect water droplets. The principle is:
- When no water is present: the circuit remains open → No signal
- When rainwater touches the sensor: water bridges the conductive lines → Circuit closes, resistance drops
- The sensor sends a signal (HIGH/LOW) to a microcontroller
- Based on the signal, the system activates an alert (buzzer, LED, SMS, relay, etc.)

Audio Rain Sensor and Window Open Detector
Audio Rain Sensor and Window Open Detector: This Audio Rain Sensor is very sensitive and can detect individual rain drops. It uses two (2) MEMS microphones, in stereo mode, one to listen for rain drops falling on a metal plate and one to listen to the ambient noise. An ESP32, which has a Floa…
